Al Hussan International Academy (HIA) is located in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia and was established in September 1998. It consists of three sections: Preschool, Girls' section and Boys' section.
HIA takes pride in the quality of its educational programs, outstanding external examination results, and strong disciplinary policies.
The school follows international educational standards, offering a rigorous curriculum designed to foster academic success. Students are prepared for Checkpoint, O-Level, IGCSE, AS-Level, A-Level examinations, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), in addition to standardized ministry exams such as NAFES and PISA. The curriculum is designed to align with students’ developmental stages, ensuring a well-rounded education. The early years (KG1, KG2, and KG3) follow the American curriculum. Grades 1 to 5 follow an in-house developed program, while Grades 6 to 8 follow the Cambridge Secondary One Checkpoint curriculum for English, Mathematics, and Science. Other subjects at this level are developed in-house. Grades 9 and 10 follow the Cambridge International IGCSE syllabus for all major subjects. In Grades 11 and 12, students can choose from three available academic pathways: the High School Diploma, A-Levels, or the IBDP.Upon completing Grade 12 and meeting the school’s graduation requirements, students are awarded the Al Hussan High School Diploma. Each year, HIA graduates gain admission to competitive universities worldwide.
Committed to maintaining high educational standards, HIA has a long history of accreditation. In 2004, the school was accredited by the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA) and the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA). In 2008, CITA merged with NCA to form "Advance-ED" which later became Cognia.. HIA is also a certified Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) board center, where all practical and theory examinations are conducted on campus in direct coordination with Cambridge. Additionally, HIA is an accredited center for Edexcel, Oxford, Pearson Edexcel, and AQA examination boards. The school received IB DP authorization in August 2011 and proudly achieved full Council of International Schools (CIS) accreditation on January 14, 2014.
