The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) is a two-year pre-university curriculum designed for students aged 16-19. This rigorous program leads to a widely recognized qualification that opens doors to the world's top universities.
The DP Core consists of three essential elements:
1. Theory of knowledge (TOK) course encourages students to become more aware of their own perspectives, and to reflect critically on their own beliefs and assumptions.
2. Creativity, activity, service (CAS) helps students to develop their own identities, in accordance with the ethical principles embodied in the IB mission statement and the IB learner profile. It involves students in a range of activities alongside their academic studies throughout the DP.
3. Extended essay (EE), offers the opportunity for IB students to investigate a topic of special interest, in the form of a 4,000-word piece of independent research.
Students must select one subject each from GROUP 1- Group 6 and an additional subject from either Group 3 or 4 to meet the six subject requirements if Group 6 is not offered
- Group 1: Studies in Language and Literature (HL/SL)
- Group 2: Language Acquisition
- Group 3: Individuals and Societies
- Group 4: Sciences
- Group 5: Mathematics
