At AHISK, we believe that without a sufficient understanding of words, students cannot understand others or express their own ideas and feelings. Words are more easily learned if students are active, drawing a picture of the word, writing their definition of it, and thinking of an example sentence to use it in.
Students in grades 3I, P, and O used this vocabulary journal to reinforce the use of vocabulary. The vocabulary journal meets all the students’ needs and achieves differentiation as they draw illustrations, identify parts of speech, and use the words in sentences.
Students had so much fun writing, drawing, and coloring this activity.
