At AHISK, we insist that "active learning" refers to any instructional method that engages students in the learning process beyond listening and passive note taking.
In grade 3 students' writing class, they learned how to write instructions about how to do simple tasks from real life.
Students worked in pairs and each one was given a suitable task, either writing the instructions or cutting and pasting the instructions pictures in order to achieve differentiation.
They had fun and learned new skills at the same time.
