"Things Fall Apart" is a novel by the Nigerian writer, Chinua Achebe. It is based on the pre-colonial existence of the tribal Africa and presents the society, traditions and cultures of the Igbo tribe in Nigeria. It also highlights the implications by the arrival of the Europeans and the beginning of the colonization of Africa. The main character is Okonkwo, who is shown to be a very strong man who is deeply rooted in his culture and tradition. The story talks about his struggles to hold onto his traditions and his acceptance of the circumstances that are beyond his control.
At AHISK, Grade 11-I studied the novel and the students designed the book covers, representing it in their own creative way, the individual perceptions and their analysis of the famous and acclaimed work of Achebe.
