Prince Abdul - Mohsin Airport

On Sunday 27of January, the grade 4 and grade 5 students from the Boys Section with two teachers and their supervisor rode a bus for the scheduled excursion to the airport.

Upon arriving at the airport vicinity, the students were reminded again to follow whatever instructions will be given especially from the airport ground supervisor who represent as the excursion guide.

The activities were going to the airport reception for some briefing, went to the lobby and seen how a K9 Police dog tried to find the illegal drugs or packages that were hidden in some the luggage which presumed to be suspicious as an example, they were guided to the baggage scanning area and the officer educated them how the they discover some of the illegal things which were put inside a gift, in cosmetics, in other medicine, in water bottles and tumblers. The airport officer explain how the Smiths Detection Machine works and shown how it reacts to different materials inside a bag or baggage using its specialized laser which were built-in in the machine. Here the students raises lots of questions and inquiries to the attending officer which surprises the airport supervisor of the students' keen observations. And all their questions were respectively answered.

After which, the group were guided to a highly special x-ray machine which detects any object or illegal materials that a person may swallow and hide it in his stomach or inside the body. Then went to the baggage service office were all lost and found luggage were brought for customers to complain and claim.

The students were given time to eat their food in the food court area and was given a food and drink treat by the management.

After the break, the students proceeded to the check-in counter for another informational session and learn how the airport personnel handles the passengers from providing boarding pass and slip with barcodes to their luggage. Then went to the custom service area and learn how people bring in and out amount of money in the airport. After it, they went to the boarding area and have all their belongings including shoes, bags, etc. to undergo scanning.

Next to it was going to the area were they need to hear and see how a finger print scanner is used to detect the identity of any passenger. Here, the students ask the officer some questions and they learn that even if a person has no finger print or his hands are burned or cut, still the airport has ways to identify and secure some documentation of the situation.

In addition, they learned how the "bridge" or "Jet Way" functioned as passage way from the building to the aircraft, and the aircraft run way. The time in the excursion was interactive and informational.

Finally, the time for excursion ended and we needed to head to the reception area wait for the school bus and go back to the school.
