World Diabetes Day

Al Hussan International School Yanbu has activated the World Diabetes Day 2018 on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. We celebrate World Diabetes Day to raise the awareness of a disease that affects an estimated 382 million people worldwide. To highlight how diabetes affects not just an individual, but spouses and children.

Students and staff came to school dressed in blue.

Teachers explained to the students how the lifestyle can affect the Diabetes. They recommend the students to increase their physical activity and eat a balanced diet which should include fruit, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, protein-rich foods and dairy to help prevent prediabetes type 2 diabetes and to control all types of diabetes.

School nurse Mrs. Marie Claros visited the classrooms and gave the students information about diabetes with a small presentation.

Teachers have prepared activities for the students about World Diabetes Day and did exercise for them.

They took their class students for a 10 minutes' walk. This would encourage them more to have a healthy lifestyle.
