Physics in Practice: Investigating Acceleration Through Experimentation!

At ALHussan International School, Our Grade 11 Physics students conducted a hands-on experiment to investigate the relationship between distance, time, and acceleration in motion.

During the experiment, students:

  • Measured the distance travelled by an object.
  •  Recorded the time taken for the object to travel the measured distance through repeated trials.
  • Calculated the average time and used the collected data to determine the object's acceleration.
  • Applied the kinematic equation (S=2x/at^2) to connect theoretical concepts with real experimental results.

Through this activity, students developed their scientific measurement, data analysis, problem-solving, and collaborative learning skills while gaining a deeper understanding of motion with constant acceleration.
