The Grade 5 Girls Section – Science Activity: “Air-Powered Toy Car Engineering Challenge!”
Our brilliant Grade 5 girls put their creativity, teamwork, and scientific thinking to the test as they designed, built, and tested air-powered toy cars! Using simple materials such as cardboard, bottle caps, straws, and balloons, the students worked collaboratively following specific criteria and constraints, encouraging them to think critically, problem-solve, and improve their prototypes for better performance. The classroom was filled with excitement as each team launched their car and observed how design choices affected speed, distance, and stability.
This hands-on STEM experience not only made learning science fun but also inspired innovation, perseverance, and teamwork — true qualities of future scientists and engineers!
