in this activity, Grade 6 students used the "Stop and Jot" technique to enhance their comprehension of the text Bud, Not Buddy. As they read, they paused at specific points in the story to reflect on their understanding and jot down questions or thoughts on sticky notes. These questions focused on moments of confusion, curiosity, or critical thinking, such as exploring character motivations or clarifying unclear events.

This strategy encouraged active reading by prompting students to engage with the text, think deeply about its meaning, and identify areas where they needed to clarify their understanding. It also fostered discussion and collaboration as students shared and discussed their questions with peers and the teacher.
