Breast Cancer Awareness Day at HIA was a collaborative initiative between the CAS students of grades 11 and 12 and the Nexus student council, which took place on the 20th of October 2024. The event aimed to educate the school community about breast cancer while expressing solidarity with survivors. The setup featured a variety of pink-themed desserts, with cupcakes representing the iconic pink ribbon of breast cancer awareness. Alongside the treats, we distributed informative brochures that explained breast cancer risks, the importance of early detection, and self-examination techniques.
The Nexus team also organized an interactive photo booth with themed props, encouraging students and staff to show their support for the cause while making the day engaging and memorable. One of the most heartfelt moments was the distribution of pink pillows to breast cancer survivors, symbolizing comfort, hope, and unity. This collaborative effort demonstrated the strength of the HIA community, combining education, empathy, and support into a meaningful event that raised awareness and inspired action.
