Promoting Sustainable Practices: Grade 11 IBDP Students

To kick off the academic year, Grade 11 IBDP students participated in a creative and environmentally conscious icebreaker activity: The Fashion Show Project. This activity was designed not only to introduce students to the importance of teamwork and collaboration but also to promote sustainable practices by repurposing everyday materials into fashion statements.

Students were divided into small groups and challenged to design and create an outfit using only garbage bags, old book pages, and crepe paper. This hands-on project required students to think outside the box and leverage their creativity, all while working together to meet a common goal within a limited timeframe.

The project concluded with a classroom fashion show where each group had a designated "model" to showcase their unique outfit. The event was not only a fun and engaging way to build rapport among students but also a meaningful exercise in collaboration and resourcefulness. The Fashion Show Project set the tone for the year, emphasizing the value of teamwork and the potential for creativity within the IB curriculum.
