At HIA, our CAS Grade 11 IB students hosted a booth during the parents' meeting focused on Diabetes Awareness. The students creatively designed a photo-booth shaped like a glucometer, allowing parents and teachers to take pictures with props related to diabetes awareness.
The booth featured an informative brochure detailing diabetes symptoms and preventive measures. Additionally, a student-designed survey was available for parents to scan and complete. To make the experience even more engaging, the booth offered homemade desserts designed to be diabetes-friendly. Each student explained how their dessert met diabetes-friendly criteria. Fresh orange juice was also distributed to complement the diabetes-friendly treats.
The Diabetes Awareness booth garnered success. Parents responded positively, actively participated in interactive displays and quizzes, demonstrated genuine interest in understanding the factors influencing diabetes and its prevention.
