At HIA, grade 4 students took a creative spin on sustainability by writing friendly letters to Earth. They thanked our planet for all it provides, apologized for any pollution, and made heartfelt promises to protect and clean it in every possible way.
To make their letters extra special, the students used technology at home to do research and prepared notes to include in their activity, turning it into an exciting flipped classroom!
Once the letters were written, our young environmentalists attached them to colorful balloons and sent them soaring into the sky, carrying messages of gratitude and love to our beloved planet.
This project was a fantastic integration between English and Science as the students not only learned about the properties of gases and how they fill balloons but also discovered why helium balloons fly while others don't.
Together, we can make a difference!
