At HIA, grade 11 economics students performed the “demand and supply curve activity” as pair work. They were given challenging cases and asked to identify the shifts in the curve. They figured out the impact and drew the graphs, respectively.
This activity encouraged lesson understanding, teamwork, peer support (HOTs and LOTs were grouped in a manner that they supported each other's learning), competition, and a sense of achievement where the lesson was well understood and grasped.
