Japan Art Mile Program - Girls Section

Every year counselling department conducts International student collaboration programs. This year, Students of grade 8H ,Al Hussan International School, Girls Section, are working on a global exchange project named as International Intercultural Mural Exchange; Japan Art Mile.

Japan Art Mile is an international non-profit organization supporting the UNESCO. The mission is “Peace building”:  to process, conceptualize and form consensus through mural painting. The goal is to build a foundation for education and cultural awareness.

The purpose of this project is to raise creative children with a sense of responsibility for their thoughts, behaviours and actions by expressing their global views openly in the form of an art mural.

This collaborative learning project is implemented with a partner school in Japan, Shiga Juniour High School for seven months. Students of Al Hussan have chosen a theme, “Construction and Conservation of New Energy Resources to Reduce Global Warming”, and are currently working together with Japanese students using an online forum JAM offers.

This project is conducted under the supervision of Mrs. Saira Muhammad and Mrs. Shadia Khaleel. Students of Al Hussan and Shiga JHS have already introduced themselves on the forum.

Students of Al Hussan has sent a "Culture Box" of souvenirs of their respective countries and Saudi Arabia.

They communicated with each other through Skype conference to discuss their research project.
