UN Convention on the rights of the child-Girls section

At AHISK, we believe that every child has rights, whatever their ethnicity, gender, religion, language, abilities or any other status. Every child has the right to be respected, the right to dream, the right to be loved and cared for, and the right to achieve their potentials.

On the 25th of October 2018, AHISK-Girls section conducted an amazing morning assembly under the title: “The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.”

The Convention has 54 articles that cover all aspects of a child’s life and set out the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights that all children everywhere are entitled to. It also explains how adults and governments must work together to make sure all children can enjoy all their rights.

The Convention must be seen as a whole: all the rights are linked and no right is more important that another. Grade 3 students did an excellent presentation for every single article and posters were spread all around the school.

We owe our children-the most vulnerable citizens in any society-a life free from violence and fear. ___ Nelson Mandela
