Youth Voices – Global Citizenship Project

Every year, Counselling Department at Al Hussan International School, Al Khobar organises a yearlong global exchange program called, Youth Talk (GNG). Students from Grade 9 – 12 participate in this program which is comprise of:

  1. Youth Voices Curriculum with four modules
  2. Online Youth Voices Forum
  3. Interactive Video Conferences
  4. Global Citizenship Project

Through this program, our students were paired with their partner school, Edwardsburg High School, Detroit, Michigan (USA). Together the students participated in curriculum activities and discussions through video conferences.

Students have learnt and promoted empathy, peace, and built 21st century workforce skills through these virtual exchanges. This year our students worked with their partners on the project of “Finding Positive Solutions.”

The main aim of the project was:

“Bringing Youth together to bring Social Change.

Through videos and podcasts, the students talked about cultural, racial, national and religious stereotypes and expressed their opinions about finding ways to bring social change. Students discussed how as youth they can bring their societies together by busting the stereotypes projected by the media about their religions and nations.”
