MUN- AHISK Boys Section

Having an illustrious culture of innovations our school has been always going for, the two-day AHISKMUN (Al Hussan International School Model United Nations) conference, a student’s organized event, kicked off with a bang at Al Hussan School in Khobar. It boasted strengths of over competent delegates from different schools of Saudi Arabia.

The president of Al Hussan groups Mr. Rasheed Al Hussan inaugurated the event by cutting the ribbon. The US official from US consulate at KSA, Mr. Peter also participated in the event. The general manager, business manager, school head, section head, students and other school office bearers were also present on the occasion.

The events began with recitation of the Holy Quran. The boy’s section head, Mr. Kaleem Rajput presided over the event and welcome the honorable guests. At the inauguration ceremony video messages were played in which former UN secretary general, Ban Ki Moon, school head Mr. Deeb, boys section head Mr. Kaleem, IB coordinator Mrs. Maria, Preschool head, Miss. Nisreen, Parent coordinator Mrs. Diana, MUN director Mr. Khamis, CAS head Mrs. Douha and Head of English department Mrs. Abeer Rajput accentuated the importance of this event.

Students from across the kingdom were made to compete for a coveted Best Delegate Award, and to engage with each other. The event worked towards building character and exposing students to both, competitive and informative atmospheres, that prompt them to think of pragmatic and realistic solutions to the problems the world faces today.

The event produced awareness about foreign policy and the stances espoused by different nations and to become well versed in the concepts that govern behavior in the world today; things such as sovereignty, intervention, and human rights. It also encouraged delegates to partake in meaningful, intellectual activities that give back to the community at large.

This event engaged different schools in meaningful debates on contemporary issues of significance by simulating mock committee sessions of the United Nations.

The students had decorated their pavilion and the school with beautiful flags and posters stating AHISKMUN. At the concluding ceremony, students expressed their views in a video recorded message. Different other videos were played at the end which enthralled the students and others.

The AHISK section head, Mr. Deeb, and boys section head Mr. Kaleem distributed the awards among students. All those who worked behind the curtains for making this event successful were also encouraged and they received appreciation certificates as well.

The school’s boy’s section head, Mr. Kaleem Rajput said, “It is a platform provided by students to their counterparts to express their abilities and interact and learn about international relations.” He expressed the hope that the students would learn to develop tolerance and become open to differences of opinions.
