Introducing IB DP

What is IB?

The International Baccalaureate® (IB) is a non-profit educational foundation, motivated by its mission and focused on the student. Their three programmes for students aged 3 to 19 help develop the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalizing world. Founded in 1968, IBO currently works with 3,158 schools in 140 countries to develop and offer three challenging programmes to over 909,000 students aged 3 to 19 years.

Mission Statement

“The International Baccalaureate® aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.

These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.”

More information regarding the International Baccalaureate Programmes can be found at www.ibo.org.

AHISK Resources

At AHISK we are committed to providing the students with a 21st century education.  We do this through utilizing the latest technologies in education.  Students in grade 11 use e-books from Kognity.com.  Teachers and students enjoy interactive activities and assignments and books can be accessed from home or at school from any tablet, laptop, or pc.  This allows students to study independently and access information quickly.  In addition, teachers and students communicate through Managebac the world’s only software specifically designed for planning, assessing, and reporting for the IB Programmes.  Parents can follow along with their student’s progress in the CAS portfolio and keep up with assignment due dates.  In addition, all students school wide have Classera e-school for communication and assessment.
